1 Privacy protection

We take the protection of your personal data seriously. Therefore, we want you to know what data we store and how we use it. The Pontifical Gregorian University processes personal data in strict compliance with Vatican City State legal requirements.

2 Collection and processing of data

2.1       In general, you can visit our website without leaving personal data, e.g. if you only want to learn more about the World Congress ‘Child Dignity in the Digital World’. We will only know the name of your Internet service provider, the website you visit us from and the web pages you visit. This information is analyzed for statistical purposes, but individual visitors remain anonymous to us. No personal data will be transmitted from your side in this process, and this information is stored separately from any personal data you may submit.

2.2       The IP addresses of the requesting computer are also recorded. Information about IP addresses is stored for a period of 31 days in the respective infrastructure components (in particular, log files of the web server/firewall), for the purpose of creating evaluation statistics. No link is created between personal data in the application and the IP address from which the access was made.

2.3       In certain cases, however, we need your name and address, as well as other information, so that we can provide the desired services. This personal data will only be collected and stored if you provide this information voluntarily, for example as part of a request, registration or application as an employee or potential supplier. Such data will be passed on to us by our provider in a secure environment or by a service provider commissioned by us and bound by an obligation of confidentiality, and will be used to the extent required by the Pontifical Gregorian University and then deleted if we no longer need the data in connection with a contract with you, or unless you have expressly consented to the further use of your data.

2.4       If you do not / no longer agree to such use, you can notify us at any time so that we can delete the data accordingly. Please send an email to the email address provided at the end of this Privacy Statement or contact the postal address provided there.

2.5       Personal data will only be disclosed to state institutions and authorities if mandated by national law.

2.6       Your information will not be used for any purpose, nor your data disclosed to third parties other than set forth in this Privacy Statement.

 

3 Data security

The Pontifical Gregorian University takes technical and organizational security measures to protect data from accidental or deliberate manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized persons. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.

 

4 Cookies

4.1       In some sections of the website, the Pontifical Gregorian University uses “Cookies” to be able to provide you with more personalized services. Cookies are small files that can be sent by a web server to your computer in order to identify it for the duration of your visit.

5.1       This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”).
